Question Restricted Betting Amounts

The occurence of having one's bet size resticted when showing a profit came up in another thread, and I thought maybe the topic deserved its' own thread.

The idea of having our bet size restricted is a bit concerning to quite a lot of us, especially those trying to develop a successful system. I was hoping that maybe some of us who have had their bet size restricted by certain bookies could share the circumstances with the rest of us. Did you notice if it was a certain amount or percentage of bank won that lead to the restriction? And if you have been restricted, what did you do to try to compensate? eg. bet with a different bookie, bet with the TAB's... Are there any suggestions you could offer that you think might avoid getting one's betting size restricted?

It doesn't deserve it's own thread, it deserves nothing less than a national enquiry.

The whole horse racing game is rigged right from the start, so that as soon as you look like making a buck or two you are forced to bet on the tote against other punters, and the government automatically gets 15% of your bet amount.

I am only new to the racing game but I find it sickening that some bookies own 13 sports cars but won't accept a bet over $100. They are spineless pieces of sh!t. All of them.

A quick scan just of the gallops on unitab today shows that the governments cut of todays pool sizes was $300,000. That is just the gallops on one tote on a midweek meeting. No wonder the government won't force the bookies to accept minimum bet sizes by law, they want you to bet on the tote. Rigged!

We need to establish a punters union.

Watch the government sh!t themselves when no-one is betting.

Not happy, end of rant!

Both AIS and Sportingbet will restrict bet sizes down to $25 a bet for the rare long term winning punter.

On a side note a friend of mine emailed AIS last week. They are adamant that they do not restrict bet sizes and have the biggest bettors in the world as members. Are they just full of sh!t?

Like silver said.. this is a very important thread which involves all of us punters who are keen to know if a successful system is developed which includes the odds of the major corporates.

I mean, should we all just walk away now and never give the major corporate websites another look in?

I cannot believe that there is not more subject matter regarding the disgusting actions of the corporate bookies (if their antics are supposedly true). It's almost as if everyone goes hush hush once the subject is bought up.

So what is the truth?

Punter 57,

Yes they are full of s.... They WILL restrict winning bet amounts down to $25. For those good enough they will find out first hand and no reasons will be given period !! You will just receive an em that says: 'Your max bet amount is now $25". That it. When they ignore your em's of complaint, what are you going to do,.close your account in protest :-) ???

Naturally they skite a different pitch but it's crock.

Crash, I was led to believe that they did not restrict punters by an employee who emailed me privately. It sounds like you have first hand knowledge of this though?

What is the restriction on first time punters?

Could one slam them and run?

Surely they wouldn't restrict you after one big bet gets up or do they?

Hi Chrome,

I added a bit to my last post before yours popped up.
I'm not saying this is first hand info or not, but my AIS bets are all small ones. I'm using it to run a place system I'm messing with.

You certainly can hit and run with a new account. They will let wins go on for some time until a definite trend shows. Same as most other Bookies. From then on it's Betfair or the TAB.

Casino's will just ban good regular winners.

Ill tell you right now, sportsbet cut you off in no time at all, with no reason given. They dont reduce your bets they just close your account. Betezy will take any size bet and pay best tote for any winning punter for any amount, you just have to place your bets on a VIP number, so they can offset your bet with someone else i guess. I cant understand why all bookies cant do this. Im not sure about ias, havnt been down that path yet. I know this because I know a pro punter that got cut off from everyone, so started using my accounts. He's been consistantly pulling 4-6k a week out and hasnt been cut off.
My guess is that the bookie I use is actually making money off me as a winning punter, by using my bets as tips and doubling what Im putting on them. Shows how stupid these other mobs are.

Thanks crash, when I'm ready to hit 'em, I'll hit 'em hard for all the punters who've been messed with.

Well it will probably only last a short time, or it will end in tears, but one has to have a decent go sometime.
