Default grey matter wrap-up

At Ascot Sat Wongkaew and Diamond Grey were placed. Wool Zone and Grasspatch Girl (20/1) both saluted.

Thumbs down Black Tom

Black Tom's imminent trip east has been called off after the entire was discovered to have bruising in the back hoof.

At least that explains his below par performance in the Northam Cup on Sunday!

Probably a blessing, I think he would have found it very tough going on the eastern seaboard.

Default Trials for Belmont, Monday 23/10/2006 - Track: Fast

The Paul Jordan trained Volition ran the fastest heat of the day, beating Great Nation by 0.75 len.

Volition hasn't started since unplaced in the Coolgardie Cup back in August. The freshen-up looks to have done him well.

Great Nation ridden by Willie Pike looked to have a bit up his sleeve and was probably the better run of two. Great Nation has had 18 starts for 11 wins and shouldn't take long to add to that tally.

Didn't Grasspatch Girl win well steve! Unfortunately I underestimated her chances (or overestimated the chances of some of the opposition) and only had a little on her, but something's better than nothing

She did westman but the next two were gaining on her over the last bit. Surprisingly good price considering she wasn't beaten far previous start over the trip by Ripped who from memory was 2nd or 3rd fav for Saturdays race.
